Touchstone Projects grew out of fifteen-plus years of hands-on work on Vancouver Island — renovations, custom millwork, and countertop fabrication done by the same hands that now run the company. We didn't come to this from a boardroom. We came to it from job sites, shop floors, and a long list of homes between Nanaimo and Courtenay.
That background shapes how we work. We know what a wall looks like behind the drywall, what a bad substrate does to a finished counter, and how much of a renovation's success is decided before anyone picks up a hammer.
Most renovation problems are design problems that showed up late.
So we front-load them. Before demolition starts, we model the space in 3D and produce photorealistic renders and full construction drawings. You see the finished kitchen — the actual door style, the actual stone, the actual sightlines — before committing a dollar to materials. It removes the guesswork for you and the surprises for us.
We also fabricate our own countertops through our sister shop, which means one company is accountable for the cabinet layout, the template, the seam placement, and the install. Fewer hands, fewer excuses.
Touchstone Projects is family-run and deliberately small. The person drawing your project is the person on site. The same crew starts and finishes.
We work across mid-Vancouver Island, primarily Qualicum Beach, Parksville, and the surrounding communities.
